The South Carolina REALTORS have just provided a couple graphs that show the real estate sales activity for the entire state between 1999 and 2009. The past ten years was truly a unique decade  to the real estate activity Hilton Head Island area and statewide.

Year end reports just arrived and guess what? Of the 13 areas that make up Hilton Head Island Real Estate:

9 of them ended the year with less inventory than the same time last year
6 areas had more sales than 2008 
Days on the market dropped in 8 of the 13.

Indicators of why this is the time to buy real estate are:
1) Prices are great
2) Inventory is down from March 09’s high of 174 to 108 today
3) Interest rates are very desirable hovering around 5% and
